Candidate Privacy Policy

This notice sets out the way Maven Search will collect and use information about you in a way that is consistent with our responsibilities and your rights under relevant privacy law. Please read it carefully so that you understand how we will use your information.

We work closely with leading financial services organisations to identify and place senior executives. We have identified you as an executive who would be of interest to our clients. We take your privacy seriously and, for us to keep you informed about relevant opportunities, we request your consent to hold your personal data. If you do not formally provide consent by completing this process, we will be legally obliged to remove you from our database and can no longer put you forward for such opportunities.

Typically, we collect your current and previous employers, and details of your work, skills and experiences, education and qualifications. We will hold your personal data, so we can connect you to the most suitable position according to your background and experience. We may use your personal information to contact you to discuss the opportunity. We will only make your personal information visible to the organisations we are working with when you are put forward for an opportunity, which will be discussed with you beforehand. We will hold your data for the connected period, we will not hold your data if you choose not to connect or remove connection with us later.

You have the right to request from us access to your own personal information. This is sometimes known as a ‘subject access request’.

Additionally, you have the right to request from us:

  • that any inaccurate information we hold about you is corrected
  • that information about you is deleted in certain situations
  • that we stop using your personal information for certain purposes
  • that your member profile is provided to you in a portable format
  • that decisions about you are not made by wholly automated means

Many of the rights listed above are limited to certain defined circumstances and we may not always be able to comply with your request. We will tell you if this is the case.

We will never process your personal data for direct marketing purposes. We will never share your information with any third parties for this purpose.

If you choose to make a request to exercise any of these rights, we will aim to respond to you as soon as we reasonably can but no later than one month. We will not charge a fee for dealing with any reasonable request.

If you are a potential candidate, we may collect your name and contact details, information about your employment objectives, past and current employment and professional experience, educational background, language skills, and other data that you provide online through a form or a resume or CV. If you are a Client or potential Client, we may collect your name, contact details, title or position, products or services requested, or other information that you provide via online forms or email correspondence. With respect to all Website visitors, we do not wish to collect any “sensitive” Personal Information, such as racial or ethnic origin, age, political, religious, or philosophical beliefs, sexual life, social security or other government identification numbers, trade union membership, health or medical conditions, or criminal history unless legally required for recruiting purposes.

Use of Personal Information

We may use Personal Information to respond to your inquiries and answer your questions, to provide you with requested information, and to undertake activities in connection with the conduct and management of our executive search or other services, such as evaluating candidate qualifications, contacting potential candidates for further Personal Information, contacting named references, and communicating with Clients about potential candidates. We also may use Personal Information for the purposes of testing and maintaining our company databases, networks, and computer systems, and for training and other internal purposes.

Disclosure of Personal Information

We may share Personal Information with our offices and affiliates worldwide where necessary or appropriate in connection with the performance of our executive search or other services. In particular, Personal Information about executive search candidates and/or Clients is often included in our company’s databases for these purposes, and therefore may be accessible to our foreign offices and affiliates. We may also share Personal Information with our Clients located in jurisdictions around the world as necessary or appropriate to provide them with requested products or services.

We reserve the right to disclose Personal Information to third party subcontractors, including information technology providers and business process outsourcing providers, in order to help support our business operations. We also reserve the right to disclose Personal Information in connection with the sale, assignment, or other transfer of all or part of the business, or where we believe such disclosure may be required by law or may be appropriate in connection with any legal claims. We may also use, disclose, or otherwise process any information for statistical or any other purposes that we choose in our sole discretion, as long as such information is not in personally identifiable form.

You hereby grant Maven Search to use, store, copy, modify, edit, display, transmit, reformat, translate, adapt, publish, retain, excerpt, share any User Content you provide through the Web Site or directly submit to Maven Search employees.

Changes to Our Privacy Practices

Maven Search reserves the right to change or amend our privacy practices as described herein and issue amended versions of this Privacy Policy from time to time in its sole discretion, as permitted by applicable law.
